Case Study: Sheridan College - Co-op Education

Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning has 68 post-secondary and 29 post-diploma programs with an 88% post graduation placement rate and 91% employment satisfaction. Further to this, 32 programs at Sheridan have a 100% graduation employment rate.
The Project
With a very high profile co-operative education and career employment department, Sheridan was looking for a job placement system to provide integration with both their co-op student job placement and their post-graduation careers office.
The main goals of the project were:
- Replace the existing manual system with a robust technical architecture.
- Increase the bandwidth of the system to handle multiple user interfaces.
- Create a web-based interface to enable students and employers to participate in the placement process.
- Integrate with the existing PeopleSoft® enterprise system.
The Result
The 'Co-op & Careers Management System' was successfully implemented. The system has improved efficiency of daily operations by eliminating previous constraints on staff access.
Innosphere created a partnership with Sheridan College to develop expand our CMS (Coop Management System) product into CCMS (Coop and Careers Management System) web and desktop application. The web system is used by thousands of students each term to search for, apply for and accept jobs, as well as manage their placements.
The additional system features has increased staff productivity and has allowed for seamless integration between their co-operative education department and their careers department.
Since the original implementation in 2001, Innosphere has continued to provide on-demand product updates and support to Sheridan’s user base and technical department.
