At the start of the project the team needs to establish that the project is meaningful and they can deliver it using the intended technology. They look around in all directions sampling the projects: Business value, Requirements, Domain model, Technology plans, Project plan, Team makeup, and Methodology or working conventions. This may involve performing architectural spikes to investigate the proposed technology.
